Copywriter & Video Editor – Located in South America – Position is 100% Remote

The Alternative Art School is looking for someone to join their small agile team. We seek a self-motivated remote full-time (30-35 hrs) employee interested in helping TAAS grow.

You will be working closely with TAAS director Amber Imrie (they,she) and under the visionary direction of Nato Thompson (he/him), TAAS founder. The applicant should be a self-starter who is motivated and able to utilize their time management skills to thrive in a remote working position. We seek an individual who is interested in building a lasting presence at The Alternative Art School and shows a passion for seeing the school thrive and grow.

Requirements

  • Must have good, reliable internet connection and an uninterrupted/private space to work
  • Internet connection speeds required for hosting zoom sessions: 1.5 Mbps minimum (Possible funding for Internet Service)
  • Must have a reliable computer with working webcam and microphone

Core Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities will include copywriting in all aspects of TAAS, from marketing to Student Life programming materials. Managing, Organizing, & Editing recorded content from our program’s talks, lectures, and classes. Facilitating Nato Thompson on building Asynchronous course content. 

Copywriting

  • Writing clear and error-free content for a website that reflects the company’s voice
  • Proposing copy concepts and carrying out projects once they are approved for school programming materials, special projects, website, newsletter and social media.
  • Interpreting creative direction and technical information in our classes descriptions and turning them into persuasive copy concepts for social media
  • Collaborating with Marketing to brainstorm and develop a variety of marketing materials
  • Working with instructors to edit and modify class descriptions as needed.

Video Editing & Sound Editing

  • Edit video content & add in branding intro/outro for uploading to youtube & social media
  • Edit Video content for creating Asynchronous courses

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in Processing Applications during enrollment periods
  • Other Responsibilities could include assistance on various Administration tasks and/or special projects in collaboration with Amber & Nato

Skills/ Experience Required

  • Must be Self-Motivated
  • Strong Copywriting Skills
  • English Language Proficiency– SAT or GRE level in either British or American English
  • Video Editing Experience

Additional Preferred Skills & Experience 

  • A basic understanding of the contemporary art world
  • Experience working on small team at a start-up or non-profit organization
  • Bilingual 
  • Knowledge of social media marketing
  • Experience working at a school or similar program
  • Experience working remotely

Social Media Content Creator – Located in Asia – Position is 100% Remote

The Alternative Art School is looking for someone to join their small agile team. We seek a self-motivated remote part-time (10-15 hrs) artist or curator interested in Content Creation at The Alternative Art School.

You will be working closely with TAAS director Amber Imrie (they,she) and under the visionary direction of Nato Thompson (he/him), TAAS founder. The applicant should be a self-starter who is motivated and able to utilize their time management skills to thrive in a remote working position. We seek an individual who is interested in building a lasting presence at The Alternative Art School and shows a passion for seeing the school thrive and grow.

Core Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities will include searching, organizing, and building social media & newsletter content for our global community of artists & curators. You will be working closely with Amber to plan and carry out a marketing/ social media strategy for Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and our Newsletter. Applicants should have some experience in design, social media, or content creation and a strong interest in facilitating a global art community.

Content Planning

At the direction of Amber, Communicate with TAAS instructors and students to collect images & news for social media content for our Instructor or Attending Artist News ‘Stack posts’.

  • Searching, organizing, and prioritizing opportunities for TAAS feed posts
  • Pull images/ video together using Canva to create posts
  • Prepare captions and schedule content to post using Hootsuite

Skills/ Experience Required

  • Knowledge of the Contemporary Art World
  • Must be Self-Motivated
  • English Language Proficiency
  • Experience working on social media platforms

This position is part work-trade (1 free class per session) with attached monthly stipend of $250 USD
